| Living History is the idea of creating memorable impressions of past events by presenting educated participants dressed in historically accurate clothing and displaying historically accurate personal gear and equipment in a setting which encourages dialogue between the public and the historic interpreters. The result both educates and promotes awareness of our nations history. Demonstrations of typical historic scenes are exhibited in a manner which educates the general public while preserving the period articles for future viewing. These scenes can best be described as "A day in the life of - ". | ![]() |
| In general we are the sons, daughters, friends and admirers of those who served in our nations greatest conflicts. "They were called and they went,.. many did not return." It is our privilege to honor and preserve the memory and history of these periods in time when so much was given, and so much almost lost. It is our obligation to do so in a manner which they would have approved and it is our pleasure to share this education with all who are interested. Most of us are specialists in the era of World War Two, but many have studied and participate in Living History exhibits dating from recent events back to the Revolutionary War era.. Most have great depth and experience in the field, having been engaged in study and collecting for many years. | ![]() |

The Duffle Bag & Associates is the Non-Profit Event Promotion arm of The Duffle Bag, Inc., a corporation furnishing Technical Advice and historic material to the Entertainment Industry and general public. Although organized in part by it's parent corporation, The Associates are an association of Living Historians who gather specifically to organize and participate in public events. We are not a club and require no dues or fees, participation is generally by invitation for a specific occasion. Past participation has included Parades, Holiday Commemorative Exhibits, Air Shows and Dedications. We number approximately one hundred participants on average, with approximately one hundred twenty tons of historic vehicles, clothing and artifacts which can be exhibited. With notice our organization can combine with others we know to an overall participant/exhibitor count of approximately three hundred. The Associates gather together as a collective group ready to promote the interest to the public wherever possible. When called upon to participate in an event it is not uncommon for our associates to travel many miles with a great deal of historic equipment and vehicles. We can create an overall historic presence which draws the maximum public attendance and holds their attention for the maximum amount of time. Since the nature of living history is Live Historic Interpreters demonstrating and discussing the clothing and equipment with the public, what the public gets is a look back in time. We also often present historic interpreters dressed in authentic period clothing conducting representative daily routines such as drills, guard duty/changing of the guards, marches, and maintenance tasks. Our organization can guarantee that the appearance and performance of the participants is historically accurate and upholds the high standards of conduct which we represent. Resumes and references of our Event Organizers and Management can be made available to the appropriate Authorities. |
